Rivera Agro Industrial phase 2
- Large-scale hog-growing and livestock operation
- System Size: 100.00 kWp
- Completion: 21-Jul-2020
- San Vincente, Bamban, Philippines
Project Summary
Large-scale hog farming runs on power. Climate-controlled barns, automated feeding systems, and ventilation infrastructure operate around the clock, and the electricity bill reflects it. For Rivera Agro Industrial in Bamban, Tarlac, that cost was significant enough to threaten margin on every animal produced.
Solaren installed a 100.00kWp system in July 2020, built around the SMA Germany STP110 CORE2, a single high-capacity inverter specified for demanding agricultural environments, paired with Trina Vertex bifacial modules and monitored continuously via SMA ennexOS. The system covers an 85.00kW peak load and generates 147,500kWh annually.
Payback was achieved in 4.1 years. The system has now been in pure savings territory for nearly two years, returning ₱1,622,500 every year with no further capital outlay. Lifetime savings are projected at over ₱41 million.
Phase 2 of this installation reflects a straightforward conclusion Rivera Agro reached after Phase 1: solar works, the numbers are real, and expanding capacity is the logical next step. For livestock operations running continuous loads at scale, industrial solar power systems are not an experiment. They are standard operating infrastructure.
