Liwayway Marketing Corporation (Oishi) Phase 1
- Food Plant Nneeding Reliable Power.
- System Size: 1452.00 kWp
- Completion: 6-Sep-2021
- Imus, Cavite, Philippines
Project Summary
Liwayway Marketing Corporation (Oishi) runs one of the most energy-intensive food manufacturing operations in the Philippines. At its Imus facility in Cavite, snack production lines, packaging equipment, refrigeration, and HVAC operate continuously across multiple buildings throughout the day. Electricity costs at a facility of this scale are not a minor line item. They are a structural cost of doing business, and they move upward with every tariff revision.
Phase 1 was the start of the solar rollout at Imus. Solaren designed and installed the first grid-tied array across available rooftop sections, working within live production schedules so that installation activity never touched the manufacturing floor. Utility compliance, metering, and grid interconnection were all handled in full at this stage, establishing the technical and administrative foundation that made subsequent phases straightforward. The system came online and began reducing grid draw on day one.
What Phase 1 established was not just a working solar system but a repeatable template. The performance data from this first installation informed the sizing and design of every phase that followed at Imus, and the same approach has since been applied at Liwayway Marketing Corporation (Oishi) facilities in Iloilo, Cebu, and Pasay. For manufacturers evaluating the economics of large-scale solar, the full context is available in Solaren’s resource on industrial solar power systems in the Philippines. Phase 1 marks the beginning of the ongoing multi-site solar rollout between Liwayway Marketing Corporation (Oishi) and Solaren Renewable Energy Solutions Corp.
