Liwayway Marketing Corporation (Oishi) Phase 2
- High-Consumption Snack Plant Reducing Costs
- System Size: 381.50 kWp
- Completion: 4-Apr-2022
- Imus, Cavite, Philippines
Project Summary
Phase 1 at the Liwayway Marketing Corporation (Oishi) Imus facility performed as designed. The monitoring data was clean, the savings were tracking against projections, and the rooftop area available across the complex was larger than what the first phase had used. Expanding made sense, and Phase 2 was commissioned less than seven months after the first system went live.
The second phase added 381.50 kWp of generation capacity across further rooftop sections at Imus. The installation was again sequenced around production operations, with no disruption to manufacturing lines. SMA Germany STP110 CORE2 inverters were deployed throughout, keeping the monitoring infrastructure consistent across both phases and simplifying long-term performance tracking. Grid compliance and metering were extended to cover the new connection points as each section was brought online.
By the end of Phase 2, the Imus facility had a combined solar installation that was already among the larger food manufacturing systems in the country, and the financial case was strengthening with every additional kilowatt. The step-by-step approach that made this work is the same model Solaren applies across all multi-phase industrial projects. A detailed guide to that process is available in Solaren’s article on commercial solar installation for Philippine businesses. Phase 2 is part of the expanding multi-site solar initiative between Liwayway Marketing Corporation (Oishi) and Solaren Renewable Energy Solutions Corp.
