Most hybrid retrofits involve swapping out an old inverter and calling it done. The Rivera compound required something considerably more deliberate.

The existing SMA canopy system was retained and integrated into the new design rather than replaced. New LONGi HiMo Back Contact modules were added to extend total generation capacity, working alongside the original array rather than competing with it. Three Sunsynk 16K Hybrid inverters were configured to manage the combined load of the main house and the wider compound, with all generation, storage, and grid interaction routed through a single coherent system.

The battery bank is the largest Solaren has installed in a residential setting: 250 kWh of storage capacity. At that scale, the compound is functionally independent of the grid for the majority of any given day. The battery absorbs generation peaks, carries overnight load, and covers outages without so much as a flicker. In a part of Tarlac where grid reliability is not something residents take for granted, that matters.

At nearly 47 kWp and 69,030 kWh projected annual generation, the Rivera system operates at a scale more commonly associated with small commercial buildings. It is, in practical terms, a private microgrid.
