Oishi Iloilo
- Snack Foods Production Hub
- System Size: 410.40 kWp
- Completion: 11-Sep-2023
- Pavia, Iloilo, Philippines
Project Summary
Oishi’s Iloilo facility is essential to serve the Visayas region and manufacture and deliver the company’s favorite snack food to a broad market. The site, like all other large-scale food manufacturing facilities, will be heavily dependent on consistent power to perform cooking, packaging, storage, and logistics. A concern that continued to grow was the rising electricity expenses, notably when demand increased. Solaren designed and installed a grid-tied solar array with a size that was able to meet the daytime output of this high-activity plant, and that met the requirements and efficiency of various meters. The system has been designed to be reliable, ensuring uninterrupted production lines and storage facilities, while minimizing costs. The Iloilo facility is currently operating a stable process that is partly powered by clean energy, which reduces the strain on its operating budget. It serves as evidence that the mass production of food can be enhanced by using renewable energy while still maintaining the quality of Oishi products that Filipinos know and appreciate.
