Project Summary
The Oishi (Liwayway Marketing) brand boasts a wide product range, but behind it lies a corporate force that oversees R&D, marketing, logistics, and administration. The company’s offices, based in Pasay City, serve as a center of decision-making, as staffing is centralized in these offices, which support the entire country’s operations. Lighting, cooling, and IT infrastructure consume a significant amount of energy in offices, and electricity has become one of the most critical ongoing costs. In response, Solaren installed a rooftop solar grid-tied system, which provides a substantial portion of the building’s daytime energy needs. The entire installation is cost-reducing and illustrates Oishi’s corporate level of commitment to sustainability, thus reinforcing the brand values for both staff, partners, and visitors. The fact that the Pasay offices run more efficiently today at the expense of clean and renewable energy is evidence that solar energy is not only the right energy source for factories, but also for the administrative center of a major food manufacturer.
