Laoang Poultry Farm
- Large-Scale Poultry House Renewable Energy System
- System Size: 54.72 kWp
- Completion: 29-Jun-2024
- Sta Ignacia, Tarlac, Philippines
Project Summary
Laoang runs large houses where airflow ramps up as birds grow. The electric bill used to mirror that curve. Solar changed the shape of daily costs. The farm installed a grid-tied system, mapped to long roofs with even spacing and clean cable routes, to minimize losses. Inverters were set for power factor targets that the utility accepts, which helps avoid penalties. During peak sun, the solar carry is strong enough that grid draw drops sharply. Over a complete cycle, the farm sees steadier, lower costs and better control of margins. The houses stay cool, the lights remain constant, and the operation has a cleaner footprint. Laoang’s experience shows that even huge broiler houses can run a simple solar plan that pays every single day.
