J.Co donuts
- Retail Donut Store + Chiller Loads
- System Size: 32.70 kWp
- Completion: 30-Apr-2024
- Imus, Cavite, Philippines
Project Summary
J.Co Donuts is one of the most recognised food retail brands in Southeast Asia, with a loyal following built on specialty donuts, coffee, and baked goods. The flagship Imus, Cavite store carries the brand’s highest footfall and its most demanding energy profile: ovens, chillers, refrigeration, air conditioning, and continuous lighting running from opening to close.
For a brand of this scale beginning a national renewable energy rollout, the flagship store is the reference point. How solar performs here sets the standard for every subsequent installation across the network.
Solaren installed a grid-tied system around the store’s actual daytime consumption profile, with net metering ensuring that surplus generation on quieter trading days returns value rather than going to waste. SMA Germany STP25X inverter technology paired with Sunova Solar bifacial modules, monitored via SMA ennexOS, delivers consistent output across the store’s demanding load.
Being part of a major brand’s renewable energy journey as it scales nationally is not a routine installation. It is a statement of confidence in Solaren’s capability to deliver at the standard a household name requires. For retail food brands beginning that journey, commercial solar panels specified correctly from the flagship store outward set the right foundation.
