Project Summary

Tarlac City’s grid supply is functional, but for this household, the question was never about managing outages. The objective was complete energy independence, a home that generates, stores, and runs on its own power with the grid as a last resort rather than a daily dependency.

Solaren designed the 16.38 kWp system around that requirement from the outset, with battery sizing kept under active review throughout the design process and the architecture built explicitly for future expansion. The Sunsynk 12K hybrid inverter manages solar generation, battery charge cycles, and grid interaction seamlessly, with Sunsynk Connect providing full remote monitoring. LONGi HiMo back-contact modules were selected for their efficiency and output consistency, a deliberate choice for a system where generation performance directly determines how rarely the grid is called upon.

At 30 kWh, the battery installation is substantial by any residential standard. It carries the household through the night, absorbs consecutive low-generation days, and maintains comfortable reserves. Sunsynk’s ten-year battery warranty provides long-term manufacturer confidence behind that capacity.

Annual generation of 24,161 kWh against a peak load of 13.92 kW delivers PHP 289,926 in savings per year. In Tarlac, where utility tariffs are disproportionately high, the payback of 3.8 years reflects exactly the dynamic described in residential solar ROI in the Philippines, high tariff areas compound savings faster than the numbers initially suggest.
