Katinko Tarlac
- Herbal liniment plant with packaging demand
- System Size: 47.12 kWp
- Completion: 13-Feb-2026
- Victoria, Tarlac, Philippines
Project Summary
Katinko is one of the Philippines’ most recognisable wellness brands, built around natural ingredients and a positioning that consumers associate with clean, responsible manufacturing. The Tarlac facility produces herbal liniments and wellness products through mixing, blending, heating, filling, and packaging operations that run consistently across standard production hours, a daytime load profile that solar offsets directly.
The 47.12 kWp grid-tied array uses an SMA Germany STP50-40 CORE1 inverter paired with Sunova Solar bifacial modules, monitored continuously through SMA ennexOS. Annual generation of 69,502 kWh delivers PHP 764,522 in savings per year against a 3.4-year payback. Lifetime savings are projected at PHP 19.7 million.
The installation was engineered hybrid-ready from the outset. Inverter compatibility, cable routing, and structural allowances allow battery storage to be added without rewiring or modification when that decision is made. The system grows with the operation rather than constraining it.
For a brand whose market positioning is built on natural and sustainable values, energy sourcing is not a peripheral consideration. Solar generation supports that positioning with substance rather than just messaging, a point developed further in solar energy in the Philippines and what it means for manufacturers whose brand identity is tied to environmental credibility.
