Mooney
- Hybrid Home System with Battery Storage
- System Size: 8.12 kWp
- Completion: 1-Apr-2025
- Hacienda, Luisita, Philippines
Project Summary
A new premium home was going up on one of the fairway-edge plots at Hacienda Luisita, and the brief from the owner was easy to state and slightly trickier to engineer. He wanted the system to feed the grid generously through the day, keep the house quietly running through the night, and absorb the daily charging cycles of a golf cart that goes out most afternoons plus an EV that comes home most evenings.
Retirement is the context. The load profile is not what people assume retirement looks like.
Solaren designed an 8.12 kWp Sunova bifacial array paired with a Sunsynk hybrid inverter and battery. Bifacial modules earn their keep on a course where reflected light from open fairways and pale hardscape pushes a useful extra yield through the day. The Sunsynk platform handles the choreography between solar, storage, grid export, and household demand without the homeowner having to think about any of it. Monitoring runs through Sunsynk Connect, which gives the household a clean daily view of generation, consumption, and export.
The result is a home that exports during peak sun, draws from storage after sunset, and never asks its retired owner to consider the question of whether the lights will stay on. Grid feed-in credits flow in quietly each month. The cart and the EV charge on schedule. The numbers run themselves.
For homeowners weighing the same approach, our guide to net metering in the Philippines walks through how the export side of a residential hybrid system actually works in practice.
