Oishi Iloilo
- Snack Foods Production Hub
- System Size: 410.40 kWp
- Completion: 11-Sep-2023
- Pavia, Iloilo, Philippines
Project Summary
Oishi’s Iloilo facility in Pavia serves as the production and distribution hub for the Visayas region. Cooking lines, packaging equipment, cold storage, and logistics operate continuously across a facility with a peak demand of 348.84 kW. Like all large-scale food manufacturing, the operation is intolerant of power interruptions and in Iloilo, interruptions are a genuine operational risk.
The local grid presents challenges that are not present in Metro Manila or Cavite. Frequent supply interruptions and voltage swells are a documented feature of the regional utility supply in this area, making system design a more serious engineering exercise than a standard grid-tied installation. Solaren specified the SMA Germany STP110-60 CORE2 inverter platform in part for its tolerance of grid-side voltage irregularities, with SMA ennexOS providing continuous monitoring across the array. Trina Solar Vertex modules were selected for proven output consistency in the Visayas climate.
At 410.40 kWp, the system generates 605,340 kWh annually, delivering PHP 6.6 million in savings per year against a 3.9-year payback. Lifetime savings are projected at PHP 171.6 million.
For food manufacturers operating outside the major grids, industrial solar power systems designed around actual local grid conditions rather than assumed ideal supply make the difference between a system that performs and one that trips.
