Don Jose Poultry Farm
- Layer & Broiler Poultry Complex Solar System
- System Size: 75.24 kWp
- Completion: 26-Jun-2024
Project Summary
Don Jose runs both layer and broiler houses, which means different electricity patterns on the same site. Layers need long, consistent lighting and steady ventilation. Broilers need high airflow as they approach harvest weight. The farm installed a grid-tied solar system with separate sub-arrays planned around each roof and its shading profile. Cable runs were kept short to reduce losses. Export control and net metering were set up building by building to keep compliance simple. Today the system covers a large share of daytime demand across both operations. That frees cash for flock health and staff, and it reduces exposure to tariff increases. Don Jose now has a cleaner, steadier cost base, while the houses stay cool and well lit. It is a straightforward win for production, animal welfare, and long-term planning.
