Dr. LPA Concepcion Eye Clinic
- Eye Clinic With Constant Daytime Loads
- System Size: 16.90 kWp
- Completion: 11-Jan-2023
Project Summary
A medical clinic runs differently from most commercial buildings. The doors open early, the air conditioning runs from the first patient to the last, and there is no tolerance for power interruptions during procedures or consultations. For Dr. LPA Concepcion Eye Clinic in Tarlac City, that meant a consistent and predictable daytime load, month after month, driven almost entirely by the need to keep the clinical environment comfortable and properly lit.
The load profile actually made the solar case straightforward. Constant daytime consumption is exactly what a grid-tied solar system is designed to serve. Solaren installed a 16.90 kWp system using two SMA Sunnyboy inverters and Trina Solar glass-glass bifacial panels, with generation and performance tracked through SMA ennexOS and Sunny Portal. The system produces around 24,900 kWh per year, displacing grid power during the clinic’s core operating hours.
For a healthcare facility, the financial argument is simple. Electricity is a fixed cost that rises with every utility rate adjustment. Solar converts a portion of that variable exposure into a known, declining cost over the system’s lifetime. The clinic now generates a significant share of its own power during the hours it needs it most.
