Lotus
- Soap Manufacturing Facility
- System Size: 23.76 kWp
- Completion: 2-Apr-2017
- Las Pinas, NCR, Philippines
Project Summary
In April 2017, Lotus Manufacturing in Las Piñas made a decision that no Philippine solar client had made before: they specified bifacial solar panels. At the time, bifacial technology was emerging but unproven in local conditions. Eight years later, the system is still running on its original SMA Germany STP25000-TL30 inverter and SolarWorld Germany bifacial modules, generating clean power across production lines that manufacture washing soap, liquid soap, bleach, and cleaning products distributed nationwide.
That decision to be first carries weight. Bifacial panels are now standard specification across Solaren’s portfolio precisely because early installations like this one demonstrated their performance advantage in Philippine conditions, capturing light from both faces of the module and delivering stronger yields across the full day.
Capital was recovered within 5.0 years. The system has now been generating pure savings for three years, quietly running in the background while Lotus focuses on production.
For manufacturers who want to understand what bifacial technology actually delivers over a long operational period, this installation is the evidence. Eight years of data, zero faults, first in the Philippines. This is what commercial solar energy systems look like when the specification is ahead of its time.
