1st Mega Savers Magalang
- Appliance Store Rooftop System
- System Size: 50.14 kWp
- Completion: 12-Aug-2023
Project Summary
1st Mega Savers is a major appliance retailer in Central Luzon, serving both households and businesses through large-format stores with extended operating hours. Full lighting and continuous air-conditioning create high and consistent daytime electricity demand, making energy costs a significant component of daily operations.
Solaren designed and installed a fully grid-tied rooftop solar system sized specifically to match these daytime retail loads. The system offsets a substantial portion of grid consumption during business hours, when demand and tariffs are highest, without affecting store operations, customer experience, or peak sales activity. Integration with the existing electrical infrastructure was completed seamlessly, allowing the facility to operate exactly as before.
Because electricity demand aligns closely with solar production, net metering was a critical element of the system design and was secured quickly. This enables excess daytime generation to be exported to the grid and credited against later consumption, improving overall system economics and protecting long-term value.
While customers may not notice the solar system above them, it operates continuously in the background, quietly reducing operating costs and improving efficiency in a demanding retail environment.
