3K Hotel
- City Hotel Rooftop System
- System Size: 28.56 kWp
- Completion: 16-Jun-2018
Project Summary
The 3K Hotel project demonstrates how solar can deliver strong financial returns even when roof space is constrained. As a multi-purpose hotel and function venue, the property operates with consistent occupancy across guest rooms, kitchens, and event areas. Daytime cooling loads, food preparation, and lighting create a stable demand profile well suited to solar integration.
The primary challenge was the limited usable roof area. System layout had to be carefully engineered to maximize output within a restricted footprint. Module positioning, string configuration, and inverter sizing were optimized to ensure every square meter contributed meaningfully to generation. Despite the spatial limitation, the installation secured full net metering approval and now offsets a substantial portion of monthly electricity costs.
The broader strategy reflects the principles outlined in Sustainable Energy Services in the Philippines, where businesses adopt structured energy planning rather than isolated cost-cutting measures.
For the owners, the system represents both economic discipline and a clear commitment to renewable energy. The result is a hospitality facility that reduces operating costs while reinforcing a long-term, sustainability-driven business model.
