Carbonel Farm
- Large-scale poultry farm with baseload demand
- System Size: 100.00 kWp
- Completion: 14-Mar-2026
- Gerona, Tarlac, Philippines
Project Summary
Carbonel Farm in Gerona, Tarlac is the first phase of what is being developed as a large-scale poultry and breeder operation. The 100.00 kWp installation was not sized purely against current consumption. From the outset, the engineering brief included the next phase, and the one after that.
Ventilation systems, feed handling equipment, lighting arrays, and processing infrastructure create a stable and predictable daytime load profile. SMA Germany STP110-60 CORE2 inverters were selected for their headroom and configurability at scale, paired with LONGi HiMo back-contact modules for their efficiency and output consistency across Tarlac’s climate. SMA ennexOS provides continuous monitoring across the array.
The expansion architecture is already in place. Inverter headroom, cable routing, combiner placement, and structural allowances were intentionally configured to accommodate future capacity increases without inverter replacement or significant redesign. When the next production phase comes online, the electrical infrastructure is ready for it. That approach avoids the common and costly problem of early saturation, where growing facilities must retrofit systems that were never designed to scale.
Annual generation of 147,500 kWh delivers PHP 1.62 million in savings per year against a 3.1-year payback. Lifetime savings are projected at PHP 41.8 million.
For agricultural operators planning phased expansion, the real solar energy ROI starts with infrastructure that grows with the operation rather than constraining it.
