Conception Residence
- A newly built retirement villa outside the city designed for comfort and self-sufficient solar living.
- System Size: 17.98 kWp
- Completion: 2-May-2024
- Mababanaba, San Jose, Philippines
Project Summary
This brand-new retirement villa outside the city was designed from the outset for quiet living and long-term energy stability. Solar integration formed part of the architectural planning from day one, allowing seamless coordination between structural design, aesthetics, and electrical infrastructure.
A key feature of the installation is the poolside canopy, where glass-glass bifacial solar panels were incorporated to provide both shaded outdoor space and additional energy generation. The bifacial configuration increases yield by capturing reflected light from surrounding surfaces, a principle explored in commercial solar energy systems. This approach significantly boosts total output within the available footprint.
The system delivers exceptionally high generation and offsets the majority of daytime consumption, while net metering credits subsidize night loads. Designed for durability and minimal maintenance, the installation is also battery-ready, with infrastructure pre-configured for future storage integration.
The result is a high-yield, architecturally integrated solar system that supports long-term independence and a low-maintenance retirement lifestyle. An example of BIPV.
