Dunkin Donuts
- Donut Factory + Retail Stores - Multiple Sites
- System Size: 11.00 kWp
- Completion: 12-Mar-2019
- Sta Maria, Bulacan, Philippines
Project Summary
For Dunkin Donuts, energy consumption does not end at the counter. Each of the busy retail stores has behind them a production plant that distributes to an extended chain of stores the baked goods. This flagship store in Bulacan, Santa Maria was in need of a solution that would cater to the daily needs of ovens, refrigeration as well as store operations and allow costs to still be predictable. To compensate for these loads, they installed a solar system to supply clean power during the day that directly offsets these heavy loads. The outcome is that it makes its operation smoother and more efficient which benefits both the retail side and the distribution hub. In the case of Dunkin’ Donuts, solar does not only mean reducing the bills, but also ensuring that the growth, preserving the quality of its chain of stores, and, more importantly, demonstrating that even large retail chains can afford to make sustainability a part of their daily business routine.
