Hi-Peak Poultry Farm
- Grid-Tied Poultry Ventilation & Cooling Solar
- System Size: 99.74 kWp
- Completion: 14-Sep-2024
Project Summary
Hi Peak is on a rural feeder on which the voltage may vary. It was important since fans, cooling systems, and controllers cannot work well with fluctuating power. The farm has a grid-tied solar system with premium inverters, which are specifically made to serve reactive power support and accurate voltage settings. The design had heavier cables on longer runs to curtail an increase in voltage with full output. The strings were to be set up to maintain the performance despite the partial shading of the adjacent trees at certain times of the day. The payoff shows up every day. The ventilation is up to date, the lighting cycles are regular, and the bill is cheaper at the end of the month. In case of a grid dropping, the system rides along. This allows Hi Peak to operate with fewer interruptions and greater control over costs, which in turn will enable the management to plan feed and growth cycles without worrying about the next bill or the next brownout.
