- Completion: 20-Apr-2024
- Sula, San Jose, Philippines
Project Summary
Ina-Inakay Foundation supports children and families of women in difficult circumstances, including those affected by incarceration. Located in a remote area of San Jose, Nueva Ecija, the foundation runs daily education and shelter programs for some of the most vulnerable communities in the region. Before solar, keeping the lights on cost upwards of ₱20,000 per month in diesel, on top of an erratic grid connection that could not be relied upon for consistent power.
Solaren designed a full hybrid system from the ground up: 17.98kWp of Trina Vertex bifacial generation, 38.4kWh of battery storage, and a Sunsynk 12k inverter with SMA SB6.0 backup, monitored via Sunsynk Connect. The system was deliberately engineered with EV charging capacity built in from day one, not added later, but planned as part of the original design.
The foundation now runs independently of both the grid and diesel supply. Annual savings of ₱291,726 go directly back into education and care programs rather than fuel costs.
This project is a practical example of what energy storage solutions deliver in locations where grid reliability is not a given and operational continuity is non-negotiable.
