- Completion: 30-Apr-2024
- Imus, Cavite, Philippines
Project Summary
J.CO Donuts is a well-known household brand in the retail food industry, and its specialty donuts, coffee, and baked goods; the store has an active flow of customers. The company’s flagship store has significant energy needs, including ovens and refrigeration, as well as lighting and air conditioning, which operate continuously to keep products fresh and customers comfortable. Increased electricity prices meant that power was a significant issue, and J.CO resorted to solar to help it come up with power. To cover a large ratio of the daytime load, a grid-tied rooftop system was installed, and net metering was installed to receive a value despite the light operation days. The resultant effect is creating a smoothly running store with lower overheads and a definite determination to be sustainable. In the case of J.CO, solar energy means predictable prices and an opportunity to offer its customers a greener and more sustainable solution.
