- Completion: 13-Apr-2022
- Bauang, La Union, Philippines
Project Summary
Jorisan Hotel is a beach hotel located in Bauang, La Union, which has been welcoming tourists to one of the most beautiful parts of the northern coast. Resorts have a significant amount of energy requirements, including cooling rooms to accommodate guests, as well as cooking, pools, and conference rooms. The solution for Jorisan was a grid-tied solar system that could withstand a coastal environment. Cold sea air and salt mist can reduce the equipment’s lifespan; therefore, only modules and structures with salt mist resistance certification were used. The mounting was also designed to withstand the powerful winds prevalent in the area, which can withstand typhoons. The result is a cost-effective and efficient system that can be used in any season, and it is also sensitive to the natural environment in the resort. Tourists can relax on the beach with ease, knowing they are spending their time in a facility powered by renewable energy, which is clean and designed to withstand the elements of the sea.
