Kayrilaw
- Organic Farm - Off-Grid Solar and Storage Pilot
- System Size: 28.90 kWp
- Completion: 1-Jul-2022
Project Summary
Kayrilaw is an organic agricultural farm located in the remote highlands between Nasugbu and Cavite, where grid power is intermittent, unstable, and frequently unavailable. Reliable electricity is essential for daily operations, yet conventional grid power cannot sustain consistent farm operations.
Solaren designed and installed a hybrid solar power system paired with high-quality battery storage, engineered to operate independently of grid conditions. The system supplies steady power to critical farm loads, including administrative offices coordinating harvests and deliveries, cold storage preparation, irrigation pumps, and essential support equipment.
Generation and storage capacity were sized around real operating requirements rather than ideal grid assumptions. As a result, the farm continues to operate smoothly during outages and under poor grid quality, without relying on fuel-intensive generator-only solutions.
The system follows the same design principles outlined in Solaren’s guide to energy storage solutions in the Philippines.
At Kayrilaw, solar energy serves as core infrastructure, enabling reliable operation in a location where grid power cannot be relied on.
