Northeastern Colleges
- Multi-Building School Solar Deployment
- System Size: 99.99 kWp
- Completion: 13-Sep-2022
Project Summary
Northeastern Colleges is a long-established educational institution in Santiago City, recognized for its academic standards and well-developed campus facilities. As the campus expanded, electricity demand grew beyond classrooms and administrative buildings to include premium ground-floor tenants such as food outlets and banking services. This mix of academic and commercial activity results in sustained daytime power consumption across the site.
Solaren designed and installed a rooftop solar power system tailored to this operating profile. Solar generation now supplies a significant portion of daytime demand, benefiting both the school and its tenants by reducing shared electricity costs without disrupting daily operations. Because much of the generated power is consumed on-site during business hours, grid export is limited, allowing the system to operate efficiently with minimal reliance on net metering.
The installation was engineered with compliance and future expansion in mind, ensuring additional capacity can be added as campus activity grows. For students and staff, the system supports a more sustainable learning environment. For tenants, it lowers operating overheads. Together, the project demonstrates how solar can support mixed-use campuses through practical, well-planned energy design, following the principles outlined in solar installation planning for Philippine institutions.
