PLERM Construction
- Construction and civil engineering contractor, JICA partner
- System Size: 11.00 kWp
- Completion: 23-May-2015
- Santa Maria, Bulacan, Philippines
Project Summary
Construction companies run heavy electrical loads in site offices, fabrication equipment, lighting across large facilities and Plerm Construction’s monthly utility bills reflected that. As one of Bulacan’s longest established contractors, with a track record that includes partnerships with international development groups like JICA, they understood infrastructure quality. They applied the same standard when choosing their energy contractor.
Solaren installed an 11.00kWp grid-tied system in May 2015, specified around Plerm’s actual peak load of 9.35kW. Components were selected for longevity: dual SMA Germany SB5.0 inverters and SolarWorld Germany bifacial glass/glass modules, monitored continuously via SMA ennexOS.
Payback was achieved within 5.5 years. The system has now run without fault for eleven years, generating 16,225kWh annually and saving ₱178,475 per year in electricity costs. Lifetime savings are tracking toward ₱4.6 million.
For a business built on delivering infrastructure that lasts, it was a natural fit. This is exactly what a commercial solar installation should deliver, not just savings on day one, but reliable performance across the full asset life.
