Sun Garden Hotel Phase II BESS
- BESS Retrofit with Backup Power
- System Size: 136.04 kWp
- Completion: 3-Sep-2026
Project Summary
Sun Garden Hotel in Tarlac City has expanded its existing SMA grid-tied solar installation with a 286 kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), using Sunsynk three-phase hybrid inverter technology.
Rather than replace the existing SMA equipment, Solaren selected AC coupling through the Sunsynk GEN ports, redirecting surplus solar production from grid export into battery storage.
Carefully sized against the hotel’s established electrical loads, the BESS is programmed for peak shaving, reducing expensive maximum-demand charges while supplying stored solar energy during evening and overnight operations. During grid failures, the system supports designated hotel loads and automatically starts the generator when required.
The project is designed to deliver substantial electricity bill reductions, with the possibility of approaching zero under favourable operating conditions.
