New Zealand Creamery

Project Summary

The New Zealand Creamery project can be described as the award-winning model of commercial solar in the Philippines. The system, which was installed at a large dairy processing plant in Calamba, Laguna, was designed to be compatible with a plant that runs on a wide range of system voltages. This factor required great care in engineering precision and planning. The project currently produces millions of kilowatt-hours per year, utilizing its installed capacity of more than two megawatts, which is sufficient to cover a significant portion of the facility’s energy consumption during the day. The Creamery has successfully stabilized production costs and mitigated the effects of increased electricity tariffs by reducing its dependence on the grid. In addition to financial savings, the project demonstrates that complex industrial facilities can effectively integrate renewable energy without compromising operations. It remains one of the most recognized examples of solar adoption in Philippine manufacturing.
