Solaren Power Office
- Solaren Solar Carport with EV Charging and Office Power Support
- System Size: 35.97 kWp
- Completion: 6-Apr-2024
- La Paz, Tarlac, Philippines
Project Summary
Solaren’s own office in La Paz, Tarlac is where the company’s approach to commercial solar is demonstrated in practice. The 35.97 kWp solar carport does three things simultaneously: it provides shaded parking, powers office operations during working hours, and charges Solaren’s growing fleet of hybrid and electric vehicles directly from solar generation.
The steel canopy structure was engineered to integrate Sunova Solar bifacial modules across the parking area, turning a previously unproductive surface into a generation asset. Two Sunsynk 16K hybrid inverters with 150 kWh of battery storage manage the interplay between solar generation, office consumption, vehicle charging, and grid interaction. Sunsynk Connect provides continuous monitoring across the entire system.
The EV charging element is particularly relevant in the current energy environment. Vehicles that charge from on-site solar rather than the grid are insulated from fuel price volatility and rising utility tariffs. The real-world fuel and electricity savings from this fleet are documented in detail, and the numbers are significant. Annual system generation of 53,056 kWh delivers PHP 583,613 in savings per year against a 2.8-year payback.
For businesses with vehicle fleets and available roof or canopy space, the case for combining solar generation with EV charging is stronger than ever, as the fleet fuel savings data from Solaren’s own operation makes clear.
